Boeing 377 StratocruiserBy Nicholas A. Veronico$16.95
Boeing's Model 377 Stratocruiser was the most luxurious airliner of its day. The double deck fuselage could carry up to 80 passengers in opulent style -- from Pullman-type reclining seats, to full berths, dressing rooms, and a downstairs lounge capable of seating 14 passengers. Powered by four Pratt & Whitney R-4360 engines, the Stratocruiser cruised at 25,000 feet to such exotic destinations as Rio, Honolulu, London, and Paris.
Volume Nine of the Airliner Tech Series details the Stratocruiser from inception to delivery, interior to exterior, as well as powerplants, airline service, Guppy conversions, hull losses, and foreign operators. Appendices include aircraft fleets by operator as well as a complete history and photograph of each aircraft. Written and researched over a six year period by Nicholas A. Veronico, Stratocruiser enthusiast and former editor of Airliners: The World's Airline Magazine.
